It’s been four weeks since I was transitioned into a new role

Job loss can be a tough pill to swallow, no matter how prepared you are. It’s a sudden shift that can cause a lot of disruption, not only in your professional life but also in your personal life. But it’s important to keep in mind that losing a job doesn’t define you, and it doesn’t have to be the end of the world. Sometimes, losing a job can lead to new opportunities that you may have never considered otherwise.

Recently, I experienced job loss for the first time in my life after only six productive months at GoDaddy. It wasn’t something I had ever anticipated or prepared for, but it happened. And while it was a shock at first, I decided to take advantage of the situation and focus on some projects that I had been slow-baking for years.

Now, four weeks later, I’m more excited than ever about what’s to come. I’m focusing on two key products that I believe will help people succeed online: Status Boards and Future Shop.

Status Boards is a drag-and-drop interface for managing WordPress content. It’s designed to make it easier for people to manage their WordPress sites without having to spend hours tinkering with code. With Status Boards, you can drag and drop content into different sections of your site, making it easier to organize and manage your content.

Future Shop, on the other hand, is an ecommerce migration tool that helps store owners move their stores from one platform to another. Platform lock-in can be a real pain for store owners, and it’s something that we’re trying to alleviate with Future Shop. Our goal is to make it easy for store owners to move their stores to different platforms without having to worry about losing any of their data.

Over the next few months, I’ll be throwing a lot of stuff at the wall to see what sticks. I’m excited about the possibilities and the potential for these projects to help people succeed online. And while losing my job was a setback, it’s given me the opportunity to focus on something that I’m passionate about.

If you’re in a similar situation, don’t despair. Losing a job can be a blessing in disguise. Take the time to focus on yourself and your passions, and you may be surprised at what opportunities come your way. See you on the internet!
