One of the most annoying things I experience when closing a tab in Safari is when it is the last tab and closing closes the entire window (including pinned tabs).
Thankfully, there is a simple remedy to fix this. In System Preferences go to Keyboard > Shortcuts > App Shortcuts and add a new shortcut for Safari, with the menu title of Close Tab and the command of ⌘W.
Although the chances of rain were only 30% in the afternoon, a sudden downpour left everyone in a panic, scurrying quickly to find shelter or quickly flooding the sidewalks with a sea of umbrellas. While this is not an uncommon occurrence in Hong Kong, non-locals often find themselves unprepared for this kind of weather.
Thankfully, on that mostly clear day, we were prepared with rain coats and other waterproof gear. While others were scrambling to find shelter or fiddling with their flimsy rain gear, we were free to walk about the city and discover a beautiful park.
Preparing for the unexpected (not finding a place to charge, wandering around without WiFi or unexpected downpours) is very important to me while traveling. As such, I have collected an essential list of gear for every traveler in any season:
